New Chair at CPRE Derbyshire
We’re delighted to welcome John Ydlibi as new Chair of CPRE Derbyshire. He takes over from Tim Silvester, whom we thank for his many years of dedication. Tim will still sit on the committee so we’re happy to continue to benefit from his experience and ideas. Here’s a bit more about John….
John is a chartered accountant and spent the last 30 years working in various senior finance roles in Rolls-Royce’s Civil Aerospace business in Derby, before retiring at the end of 2019. He lived in the Amber Valley for 20 years, prior to moving to a rural village just over the border into Nottinghamshire.
He is a Non Executive Director of Castle Cavendish Foundation Trust which supports voluntary and community groups in the inner city of Nottingham, and a Non Executive Director of Thera East Midlands which provides support to 300 adults with severe learning difficulties to enable them to live as independently as possible.
John is interested in most sports and played cricket for over 30 years for Basford Mill Cricket Club. He is a member of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and is on Nottinghamshire’s Recreational Cricket Committee , where he is the Chair of the Clubs and Leagues subgroup. John is also a passionate supporter of Derby County.
John is married with two adult children and has a Labradoodle called Bryson, who has received plenty of walks whilst in lockdown. He is a member of the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, the National Trust and RSPB , and enjoys the countryside and particularly watching wildlife.
