We’re excited to share that CPRE Derbyshire is part of Making Space for Nature, a free event taking place at The Whitworth Centre.

Join us as we consider how to help the natural world locally and beyond Darley Dale.

From 11am – 4pm there will be ecologists, wildlife experts, scientists, therapists, allotment growers, gardeners, climate campaigners and volunteers on hand to offer advice and share information on the following:

  • Attracting butterflies and bees into your garden
  • Forestry, and how it is a key part of climate mitigation and nature recovery
  • Growing food sustainably
  • Gardening without chemicals
  • Getting involved with community gardening
  • Expanding wild public spaces
  • Setting up a community orchard
  • Joining a local action group

From 1 – 3pm you can also join the Community Assembly on Making Space for Nature. This interactive meeting allows for truly democratic decision making, and is a great opportunity to bring choice and voice back to local people. We encourage you to come and help us create change in Derbyshire and beyond.
