Current status of Local Plans in Derbyshire

Local and Neighbourhood Plans are key strategy statements created by borough councils and parish councils in consultation with their local communities.

The process to create these Plans is robust and follows the principles of the National Planning Policy Framework. Find out more about the role and importance of Local Plans.

Worryingly for our county, Amber Valley is still without an adopted Local Plan. Although the process is underway to build one with a target date of March 2021, it appears to be going along quite slowly due to the COVID crisis.
